TIA1001 Secure Cargo

This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to secure cargo (load). This unit is appropriate for those working in heavy haulage drivers and general freight delivery operations. Unit covers the skills and knowledge required to secure load, fallow workplace procedure and regulatory requirements.

This includes secure cargo/container, lashing and unlashing cargo, protecting cargo from weather, packing and unpacking cargo

 

TLID0015 – Load and unload goods/cargo

This unit of competency covers the skills and knowledge required to load and unload goods and/or carg.               confined spaces under a work permit and for maintaining safety while working in the confined space. The term ‘work permit’ (or ‘permit’) includes all written authorities as defined by AS 2865-2009 Confined spaces. It applies to people required to enter confined spaces for any purpose, including maintenance, cleaning, inspection, or other reasons.

This unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles undertaking work within the following sectors.

Participants undertaking this qualification come from a range of backgrounds. It would be expected candidates would have reached the level of expertise of managerial decision-making capability. Most will have significant emergency and disaster management experience (on road).
